THE WEEKEND Spotlight

Prince Harry Resigns from Sentebale

Prince Harry has resigned as patron of Sentebale, the African charity he co-founded in 2006 with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho to support children and young people affected by HIV/AIDS. This decision follows internal disputes within the organization, particularly involving the charity’s chairwoman, Sophie Chandauka.  The conflict centres around allegations of financial mismanagement and governance issues. In December 2024, a significant fundraising deal collapsed, prompting trustees to request Chandauka’s resignation.

Her refusal led to a legal challenge, resulting in the resignation of the entire board of trustees, including Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso, in solidarity.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Meghan Markle Shut Down Feud Rumours with Surprise Instagram Cameo

Recent speculation about a feud between Gwyneth Paltrow and Meghan Markle has been dispelled by the two celebrities themselves. On March 25, 2025, Paltrow addressed the rumours during an Instagram Q&A session. When asked about any “beef” with Markle, Paltrow responded with a video stating, “I genuinely do not understand this at all, whatsoever.” She then panned the camera to reveal Meghan Markle seated at her kitchen table, enjoying a slice of pie, who also appeared puzzled by the notion of a conflict.  The rumours originated after Paltrow’s Vanity Fair interview, where she discussed Markle’s new lifestyle ventures. Subsequently, Paltrow posted a breakfast cooking video featuring the theme song from Markle’s Netflix show, which some interpreted as a subtle jab. However, the joint Instagram appearance underscores their amicable relationship and dismisses any claims of rivalry.  Both Paltrow and Markle are prominent figures in the lifestyle industry, with Paltrow’s Goop and Markle’s upcoming brand, “As Ever,” operating in similar spaces. Despite this, their recent interaction highlights mutual support rather than competition.
